Telluride Destination

“High” from Telluride! Of course, I mean hi, however, we are sitting in town at 8,750 feet enjoying pizza at Brown Dog. Talk about high, earlier we were walking around the shops of Mountain Village, which sits at 9,600 feet. Telluride is a gorgeous historic mining town in a box canyon at the base of the San Juan Mountains in the Rocky Mountains. Butch Cassidy actually committed his first bank robbery here on June 24, 1889. The town has stunning scenery, world-class skiing, a vibrant arts scene, as well as a thriving restaurant scene. We’ve been popping in and out of art galleries, museums, and shops. Telluride is truly a four-season destination with so much to do: ski, hike, bike, or just relax and enjoy the scenery. Yesterday we took a guided fly-fishing trip on the San Miguel River where mom caught two trout. Tomorrow we’re hiking up Bridal Veil Falls. The falls are the tallest free-falling waterfall in Colorado! We also have plans to take a four-wheel drive open air truck up to Imogene Pass from downtown to a summit of 13,114 feet! Telluride has such a cool vibe. We’re definitely thinking about staying!
